RIBA South Award 2017 Winner
We are delighted that Adrian James Architects won two RIBA South Awards for Incurvo. The project won both a RIBA South 2017 Award and RIBA South 2017 Sustainability Award. LEATHWAITE constructed the Insulating Concrete Formwork shell for this incredible house, including groundworks, foundations, ICF walls, concrete floors, stairs and roof. The house is as close to a Passivhaus as a curvy house can be: it meets the most stringent benchmarks for insulation, thermal bridging, airtightness and thermal comfort. It was a challenging design to achieve technically and an exciting project to be involved in. Huge congratulations to Adrian James Architects, the client and everyone involved in this amazing project.
Chilterns Building Design Awards 2019
Incurvo is situated within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and in 2019 won a Building Design Award from the Chilterns Conservation Board and Chiltern Society. The competition is run every two years to encourage and recognise great examples of design and construction based on the principles in the Chilterns Buildings Design Guide.
